From Farm to Forest, a Campaign to Support Burmese Refugees along the Border of Thailand
Earth Day is happening in 5 days and as our farm is called Happy Earth, we take Earth day and month as OUR day and month! 😁😁
Believing that Mother Earth cannot be happy unless those who take care of her are happy. We feel the need to support them in any way we can.
With the current political affairs in Burma heightened up, many of the hill tribes who live in the forest 🌳 along the Thailand and Burma border are affected. Thousands of Karen people are urgently seeking asylum there, leading to a shortage of food and medical supplies.
Being deeply rooted in the NGO works years before starting an organic farm, we decide to run From Farm to Forest Campaign to help these forest people fleeing for their lives and seeking shelter along the Thailand border.
Throughout April and June this year (from Earth Month to World’s Environmental Month), we will be donating part of our sales to different NGO’s who are working directly in the areas. (As ex-NGO workers ourselves, we have many friends working in the field.)
With every online purchase of Happy Earth Farm, you will also be supporting the work of several NGOs who directly works with this group. Apart from that when using “Farm2Forest” code, you will get free shipping within Singapore and US too!
For the rest of this month throughout June, we hope to share with you the stories of people who live in the forest so you know how the forest and people can live together in harmony. Certain misconceptions such as the forest fire, rotational farming will be discussed as well as the folklore knowledge, songs and more.
P’Nok has promised to tell us her personal journey working and living with the hill tribe as well. Please stay tuned for more to come, and maybe you are inspired by their ways of life the way we have!
Let us know what other things you are curious about, so we might cover them in our blog or find more info for you as well.
Last but not least, if you are hikers or are into any outdoor activities, we are eco-conscious outdoor surveys with a draw prize a giveaway by the end of June. Please visit the link in bio for more info.
That’s a lot of information to chew. Wishing you a great weekend ahead. 🤟🌈🙏🌳
