A Walk along the Memory Lane
“Before starting Happy Earth 15 years ago, I used to work with the Karen tribes in Chiang Mai, shedding light on the tribal wisdom and how their way of life plays a role in forest preservation.
The more I learn about their practice, the more I become inspired.
They didn’t need money because everyone was the producers and barter exchange works for them.
They didn’t need plastic bags because they can use the leaf picked behind their home to wrap food… Etc..
They didn’t need fossil fuel that is transported thousands of miles away to cook food because they rely on wood fire picked from the forest which smells divine when burnt.
It seems like Mother Nature already provides them with everything that they need. And because of that, they respect and care for her profoundly.
For me, apart from trying to promote their wisdom about the community forest, I was inspired to change the way I see the world and realized that in order for real change to occur, I need to be the change I want to see first.”
